Earth Tones & Vertical Stripes

I wear these pants a few times a month—sometimes even to "swanky" parties at upscale hotels. (Which was a thing this particular evening.) What if I told you that they're not "actual" pants at all though? Yeah, they're technically a swimsuit cover up, which is precisely why I shy away, or make sure I'm wearing underwear (sometimes.), when I'm tempted to wear them on windy days. (The wind makes them EXTRA dramatic.)

As if the high slits and borderline questionable sheerness of the material wasn't enough, it was really hot on this day and I opted against wearing a bra. It was fine, the ribbed fabric of the top did a good job of keeping the breasts contained but what I did not take into consideration was just how cold the aforementioned hotel party would be. I should have learned from the insane amounts of Friends reruns I watch that no amount of ribbed material will help that.

Despite the wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen, I loved this look. Would definitely wear it again, which is saying a lot, because when it's as hot as it was in these photos, I dress to simply not die. At least in the winter, you can just keep adding layers, right? (A lot of you seem to disagree with this sentiment.)

P.S., though certainly not practical, I love wearing this pants in colder weather with black tights and ankle boots, as seen here.
