I've never been one to look forward to breaking a sweat but recently I've been trying to work out (almost) every day. Sometimes while I'm lacing up my sneakers to head to the gym, I barely even recognize myself. Instead of dreading cardio, I look forward to it. Instead of hating myself the day after leg day, I rather enjoy the burn. My life has taken an interesting turn, what can I say? When Classpass contacted me to let me know that they started up in Philly, I was thrilled to welcome them to the City of Brotherly Love. It was kismet! I invited my mom and Danielle to come try out a class with me. We hit up Lithe Method in Center City for some "Cardio-Cheer-Sculpting" and had our butts kicked. (In the best way possible.)
The workout was insane. I mean, what else would you expect from a workout concocted by a former USC cheerleader? First it was some work with weights on a mat, then some cardio with resistance bands that hung from the ceiling, and then some barre. It was fast-paced and a lot of fun. (Albeit slightly painful.) Danielle and I hung in there somehow while my mom kicked ass. You can see from the photo with my friend Lily just how beat I was after it was done but don't get me wrong-- I felt great. Honeygrow provided us with some snacks afterwards so that made the burn a little better.
If you're in a city with Classpass, I would absolutely recommend checking it out. Because one pass gets you unlimited classes, you'll get to try out things you never would have before and you could end up finding something you really like. One thing that I've been learning is that fitness is not a one-size-fits-all kinda thing. It's important to live a healthy life and it's really difficult to do that if you can't find a workout to fit your needs and desires. I obviously have a long way to go but the journey has been so much fun thus far. (Thanks Classpass for the little boost in inspiration!)
