Paris, j'adore. I spent my past week with my nose in the cutest little book about The Parisienne. (You've probably seen it floating around on Instagram.) Ever since my first taxi ride from Charles de Gaulle to the 7e Arrondissement way back when I was 16, I've been enamored with Paris. The buildings are masterpieces. The ambience is romantic and artful. The food is delectable. The style is unattainably effortless. I haven't nailed it quite yet but I'm beginning to embrace the French ideals of simplicity and timelessness.
“Take the time to listen and to get to know yourself. Take the time to change, to grow, to rest. Take the time to say yes, take the time to say no. Take the time to be quiet. Take the time to look after your body, to eat well. Take the time to ask yourself who you are and what you want.” - How to be Parisian
Confidence is key. I'm slowly becoming comfortable in my own skin and I wear that tenacity like a badge of honor. Until I can travel again, I'm content with my double espresso and my daily French lessons. I'll listen to Francois Hardy and Mélanie Laurent in the car and try to concoct the perfect low-carb macaron.
