I've been in love with Local Natives ever since we added their first album into our rotation WAY back when I used to work for Urban Outfitters. Hummingbird, their newest album was a long time coming but very worth the wait. This song Bowery captivated my heart immediately. It's peaceful, a little sad, but very fulfilling, which is why I'm sharing it with you guys today! Perfect for this weather that we've been having up here in the North East. Very dreary, very cold but not without the slightest hint of spring in the air! Enjoy. (You can listen to the whole album here.)
This is my new favorite breakfast of all time. Everybody knows that apples and peanut butter is a classic combination. BUT, has anybody ever thought of adding a little bit of honey into the mix? Adds a whole new element, plus if you use raw local honey, it'll help you out with your seasonal allergies. In fact, honey is the ONLY thing that helps me with my allergies in the spring. Put simply, taking local honey will get your body used to the local allergens. I'm always looking for new ways to add honey to my diet for this very reason so I'll definitely be sharing more.
p.s. YES, I know that honey isn't "vegan" to most people who identify as vegans. No need to remind me, I already know.
Whew. The transition from winter to spring is never as "smooth" as I expect it to be. The cold tends to wear out its welcome (and this is coming from a total and complete snow bunny), allergies kick my butt, and my spring clothes don't look the way they're supposed to. The last part is definitely the worst of them all! I think it's all a part of the curse of being a woman. I probably spend more time worrying about what I look like than anyone else I know. If you've been around here for a while, you know this. It used to cripple me until I learned to be comfortable in my own skin, and whatever they may try to tell you, this is NOT just a "one time" occurrence! I have a love/hate relationship with my body and I've learned that this is okay. I think (think!) that never being completely content is healthy. It keeps us growing and always trying to be better than previous versions of ourselves. I want to hear what you all think when it comes to personal image because I know that this subject can be quite a doozy. Just something to think about! Have a great rest of the weekend ladies.
Wow, this year has been nothing short of a whirlwind and a half! I can't believe that lark & lace has been around for a year now. (Well, a year tomorrow.) I'd be lying to you all if I said that putting these photographs together wasn't making me a little teary-eyed. I've been through a lot of changes and I'm seriously blessed to have had you all here alongside me for all of them. Without getting TOO sappy here, I'll just share a few of my favorite posts from my first year of lifestyle blogging.
It's been an adventure thus far, I can't wait to see what the next year holds. As for you guys, my beloved readers, what would you like to see more of? I wanna hear what you have in mind since you'll all been nothing but joyful for me!
