minty mocktail

mocktail, pregnant, pregnancy, cocktail, grenadine, mint, pineapple, drink
With so many of my friends being prego this summer, I set out to devise some delicious non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails, if you will) so they won't feel left out. (But you don't have to be pregnant to enjoy it. It's THAT good.) This one is not only yummy and refreshing but is also so pretty. I named it "The Babushka" because it reminds me of my beloved nesting dolls. If you're NOT pregnant want to add a little something else, add some vodka and call it "The Wild Babushka."

Here's what you'll need: Sweet minty tea (I love Sweet Leaf's), pineapple juice, grenadine syrup, ginger ale (I made my own using the SodaStream. If you use regular ginger ale it might be a tad on the sweeter side so I would suggest using a milder ginger beer if you don't want it too sweet and don't have a SodaStream!), ice, and mint leaves to garnish.

Start by filling your glass 3/4 of the way with ice. Then, add equal parts ginger ale, pineapple juice, and mint tea. Finish it off by adding a tiny splash of grenadine and garnish with the mint leaves. Because of the heaviness of the syrup, it'll have a pretty ombré effect, which, to me, is pretty tropical.

Enjoy!
